This three bedroom
village house in Pachna with it's own swimming pool used to be the home of the village 'Mukhtar', or Mayor, and as such
is a comparatively grand residence.
It was built along traditional lines with areas for both people and their animals. In the 'Donkey Room' you can still see the feeding troughs and iron rings used to tether the donkeys. The house is extremely unusual in that it is located in the centre of a village and yet has extensive grounds.
What must at some time have been a meadow and orchard has now been transformed in to a beautiful garden with lawns, flowers, fruit trees, stone pathways and a swimming pool. The lawn itself is quite an unusual feature for Cyprus, a specific variety of grass capable of dealing with the warm temperatures and installed a computer-controlled irrigation system with pop-up sprinklers meaning that the whole operation is automatic.
The village of Pachna is a picturesque and lively village about 20 minutes drive from Limassol and 30 minutes drive from the Troodos mountains. It benefits from a sunny and dry climate with temperatures in Summer rarely exceeding 30
Celsius in contrast to the coastal areas which can be hot and humid. Here we have fresh air, greenery, a cool breeze, long sunny days and are still only 10 minutes from the nearest beach.
